The first step to understanding how we may help you and/or your family is to understand what is happening, both from your point of view, and from any empirical evidence we can gather from our gear. It’s not possible to guarantee any particular result, however we should be able to suggest a course of action to ameliorate the conditions causing the disturbances after we have a chance to visit with you.
We collect evidence through the use of video and digital cameras, audio recorders, and various electronic meters for measuring anomalous electromagnetic phenomena associated with the paranormal. We are looking for direct evidence of unexplainable activity, such as unknown voices and sounds, paranormal images, and unusual meter readings. We need to rule out all terrestrial and otherwise mundane answers to the activity you are experiencing. We also conduct an interview to find out the details of what has been happening, in an effort to understand the nature of the situation and assess potential solutions.
More than just ghosts
In addition to the paranormal, Flickering Torches is interested in other unexplained phenomena, including ghosts, strange sightings and encounters, such as Bigfoot and chupacabra, and UFOs. Modern people aren’t the only ones who have seen these things, either. Written records of mankind’s experience with the unknown are encoded all over the world on paper, stone, papyrus, leather, ceramics, wood, and canvas. They cover caves, temple walls, canyons, boulders, mud bricks, books, paintings and pottery. Inscriptions and pictures date back thousands of years. Image analysis
Michael Breckenridge is available to analyze your images and determine whether what is seen is real or a trick of perception. Most alleged paranormal objects in photographs turn out to be camera artifacts, caused by reflections, obstructions, shadows, flash, or issues with the camera’s settings. For years now, there has been a widely circulated myth that “orbs” are spirits captured on film. This myth was invented by a well known group of ghost hunters to give themselves some “evidence” when none was to be found, when in fact continuing to promote the idea merely causes the person or group doing so to lose credibility with the rest of us who know better. Please don’t fall into this trap! Believing orbs are ghosts is as ridiculous as believing that having your picture taken will take your spirit away.
